I have got 8 guys in our hunting group signed up for the coyote hunt now. They ran a big one on Saturday and it took them about 35 miles and they still was unable to shoot it. By the size of the track it was a big coyote. We may go back to the area this weekend and see if we can get the dogs to run it again.
I am just curious...why is the emphasis being put on shooting male coyotes? Or I should say... Why does sex even matter?
I believe this is the first contest where I saw a differentiation of sex of the dog, just curious what the thought process was. Are males always heavier than females? Was this just a way to spread the money around a little more?
Ummm... i think gary better do a better job proof reading... It says the start date will be friday at 12:01am... that actually means the people can hunt all day friday.. I think you meant saturday morning at 12:01am...

Thanks.
I thought the $2.00 heaviest female was for the heaviest female applicant.. LOL. j/k
So for the guys that will be trapping........Do the traps have to set on the day the contest starts??????? How would you regulate the guys that have been trapping coyotes and having sets out prior to the contest???????

Don't think it matters they just pretty much want them dead. The Mosquito Creek hunt always wait until trapping season is over, that way it just strictly hunting. That way guys cant catch them and keep them alive, there is a lot of money on the line.Top dog usually fetches $6,000+ most years.
Uber that is right we can hunt all day friday im just hoping the weather is ok for it
Well i read the flyer that waldorf posted on the first post and it says that the tournament is Saturday Jan 28th and Sunday Jan 29th.. so something aint right
talk to gary yesterday the tourny starts on friday at 1201 AM and goes to sunday and the part that says heavest male get 50% and so on that is a wrong he told me it is heavest dog gets 50% and then 2nd and 3rd heavest. he said he will go over that at the Shoe
OK so I am stupid! I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote up the rules. It is indeed the heaviest yote male or female. Sorry to cause the confusion. Never put on a yote hunt before. We said 1st year would be a learning year.
You can begin to hunt at 12:01 tonight.
Do you have any other questions Uber? If so please ask when you stop in to sign up. LOL!
Anybody with questions and suggestions are free to call me. 814-705-6625 Thanks and good luck to all!
